Flight deck simulation
Interior of the flight deck of a full flight training simulator (FFS) used to train aircrews in the flight control of passenger transport aircraft by duplicating all aspects of the handling. A hydraulic Stewart motion platform provides realistic simulation of the movements and 'feel' of the aircraft under different conditions, so can be used to provide training in emergency situations which can arise in, for instance, landing at airports such as this simulation of the approach to Hong Kong. Keeping light levels low and only using red light on the flight deck also helps to maintain the illusion of movement and reality by removing some perception clues.
