Electrophysiology of c.elegans neural circuits
Chunxiao Hu, a scientist at the University of Southampton, holds a device to hold a 1mm c.elegans nematode developed at the University of Southampton. Using the device it has been found possible to record the brain activity of these tiny creatures and it is hoped to use the information to test drug compounds for neurotoxicity and neuroactivity. The device was developed by electronics engineer Chunxiao Hu and Professor Lindy Holden-Dye of the neuroscience electrophysiology department.
