Air crash simulation - injured survivors
Fire fighters and paramedics attending to volunteers with simulated injuries. These signs of injury have been realistically applied by members of the Casualties Union, a volunteer body which provides facilities and volunteers for such simulations and exercises. All the volunteers have been briefed as to the symptoms they would be suffering, consistent with their simulated injuries, so that they can seem realistic to the emergency service personnel. As part of an emergency services training exercise the scenario of a plane crash at Manchester Airport was arranged. The exercise used volunteers as 'casualties' and these were briefed as to the supposed symptoms they suffered in the crash and they were cosmetically made up to simulate the injuries sustained.
