HYperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO)
EDITORIAL USE ONLY. Patient undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy with a doctor communicating with the patient by telephone. The single-patient chamber allows treatment with pure oxygen at approximately twice atmospheric pressure for sessions of over two hours in duration. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen at pressure higher than normal atmospheric pressure and is used to treat wounds and ulceration, as well as carbon monoxide poisoning and decompression sickness.
