Synthetic Bone Research
Laboratory specimen of synthetic bone and a segment of rabbit bone. The synthetic bone is made from collagen, calcium phosphate (a component of real bone) and an amino acid catalyst so that rejection by the body should not be an issue and would be resistant to stress. The project is led by Dr Jan Czernuszka at Oxford University, UK.
