MRI scanning for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
A patient has an MRI scan to diagnose a deep vein thrombosis in his legs. Magnetic resonance direct thrombus imaging (MRDTI) scans show the clot or thrombus in the leg, and lungs. The technique is especially useful with pregnant women as X-rays are not used.
