Breast cancer gene research
Scientist works with an X-ray autoradiogram of 20,736 DNA fragments making up Chromosome 17, which is believed to sometimes hold a defective gene responsible for some cases of inherited breast cancer. Some of the sites have been tageed with a radioactive marker as dark spots which enables scientists to map the genes on a chromosome.
